PCB Rework in Kenya
Rework goes beyond repairing a fault — it covers controlled modifications to a board's components or connections, carried out under magnification.

Service Overview
Rework is precision work on a finished board: replacing surface-mount parts, correcting damaged pads and traces and implementing approved changes. The aim is to bring the board back to its original electrical specification, not to hide the damage.
Sinsal reworks boards under magnification with temperature-controlled equipment. BGA rework is not offered, and modifications are limited to those the laboratory is equipped to carry out and the board's owner approves.
Equipment We Work On
- Boards needing replacement of SMD components
- Boards with lifted pads or damaged traces
- Boards needing connector replacement
- OEM boards requiring an engineering change
- Prototype and low-volume boards
- Boards with previous poor repairs to correct
Typical Failures
- Lifted pads from overheating or mechanical stress
- Burnt or broken traces
- Components damaged by a previous repair attempt
- Connectors torn from the board
- Footprint changes needed for a substitute part
Diagnostic Process
- 01Inspection of the area to be reworked under magnification
- 02Confirmation of the fault with electrical measurement
- 03Check of surrounding components for heat or mechanical damage
- 04Agreement on the rework scope
Repair Process
- 01Controlled removal of the part or damaged area
- 02Pad and trace repair with appropriate materials
- 03Fitting of the replacement or modification
- 04Cleaning and inspection of the finished joint
Testing and Validation
- Continuity checks across the reworked section
- Functional test of the board
- Inspection of joints after thermal cycling during the test run
What You May Receive
Rework record, Post-rework verification result.
Warranty
Completed repairs are accompanied by warranty documentation. The cover, its term and its exclusions are written on the warranty document issued with the job, so they are agreed in writing for your equipment rather than assumed. Warranty applies to the repaired fault and the work carried out, not to unrelated failures elsewhere in the equipment.
Important Limitation
Only modifications Sinsal is equipped and authorized to perform are undertaken.
Common Questions
What is PCB rework?
Board-level corrections and modifications — component substitutions, trace or pad changes, connector changes — carried out under magnification, distinct from fault repair.
