Board-Level Electronics Repair in Kenya
Board-level repair restores the failed circuit board inside a unit, so the equipment is returned to service without replacing the whole assembly or the OEM module it came from.

Service Overview
Many failures in networking, industrial and medical equipment are failures of a single board. The OEM answer is often a full board or module swap, which can be expensive, slow to import, or unavailable once a product line is discontinued. Board-level repair treats the board as the unit of repair and brings it back to its working specification.
It sits one level above component-level repair: the question answered is whether the board can be restored and returned, while the component-level work is the technique used to do it. Organisations with fleets of the same board type can combine it with batch assessment to understand repeat failures.
Equipment We Work On
- Controller and mainboard modules from networking equipment
- Drive, PLC and HMI boards
- Power conversion boards
- Medical equipment interface and control boards
- CCTV recorder and camera boards
- POS and kiosk motherboards
Typical Failures
- A board that no longer powers up after a surge or lightning event
- Repeat failure of the same board type in a fleet
- Burn damage around a power input or protection stage
- Cracked solder joints from heat cycling or vibration
- Corroded boards from humidity or liquid ingress
- Connectors and headers torn from the board
Diagnostic Process
- 01Board identification and fault history
- 02Visual and microscope inspection of both sides of the board
- 03Power-up behaviour and rail analysis on a bench supply
- 04Isolation of the failed section with oscilloscope and thermal tools
- 05Repairability decision, including whether needed parts can be sourced
Repair Process
- 01Removal of failed parts and cleaning of contamination at the repair site
- 02Replacement of components, repair of pads and traces and re-seating of connectors
- 03Re-inspection under magnification to check joint quality and neighbouring parts
- 04Records of what was replaced and why, so the repair can be traced later
Testing and Validation
- Rail and signal verification against the readings expected for a healthy board
- Functional test in the host equipment or on a representative test setup
- Extended run to confirm the repair holds under normal operating heat
What You May Receive
Repairability decision, Repair record, Post-repair verification result.
Warranty
Completed repairs are accompanied by warranty documentation. The cover, its term and its exclusions are written on the warranty document issued with the job, so they are agreed in writing for your equipment rather than assumed. Warranty applies to the repaired fault and the work carried out, not to unrelated failures elsewhere in the equipment.
Important Limitation
Boards with unobtainable parts, severe multi-layer damage or damaged proprietary programmed devices may not be repairable. Sinsal does not carry out BGA rework.
Common Questions
What is the difference between board-level and component-level repair?
Board-level repair is the outcome: a failed board restored and returned instead of replaced. Component-level repair is the technique: finding and correcting the individual part or connection that failed on that board.
Is board-level repair cheaper than replacement?
Often it is, particularly when the replacement board is imported, back-ordered or discontinued, but this depends on the fault and parts. Assessment gives you the repair option and its scope before you commit.
Can you repair several identical boards in one batch?
Yes. Batch submissions are assessed together, which also helps show whether a repeat fault points to a design weakness or an operating condition.
Facing a Board Replacement Quote?
Describe the equipment and the fault. Sinsal will confirm whether it is a fit for diagnostics and repair before any work begins.
