CCTV and Security Electronics Repair in Kenya
Security integrators and facilities teams are often told to replace a failed recorder or camera. Sinsal repairs the electronics inside DVRs, NVRs and IP cameras, which is frequently quicker and cheaper than replacing and reconfiguring a system.

Service Overview
CCTV hardware fails in predictable ways: power stages from unstable mains and surges, storage and interface faults in recorders, and weather and surge damage in cameras. Because replacement means re-adding devices, licences and cabling checks, repair of the board can be the lower-disruption option, especially for multi-channel recorders that sit at the centre of a site.
Sinsal works on the electronics of the hardware. It does not install or commission CCTV systems and it is not a manufacturer service centre. Scope for a given brand and model is confirmed at assessment.
Equipment We Work On
- Digital video recorders (DVR) and network video recorders (NVR)
- IP camera mainboards and power-over-Ethernet stages
- Camera power supplies and adapters
- PoE switches used with camera networks
- Access-control and alarm-panel boards
- Surveillance monitors and decoders (electronics only)
Typical Failures
- Recorder that does not power on or reboots repeatedly
- Power supply failure after surges
- Camera with no image or no network link
- PoE ports that no longer deliver power
- Hard-drive interface faults on a recorder board
- Water ingress and corrosion in outdoor cameras
Diagnostic Process
- 01Record of the device, firmware if known and the symptoms
- 02Visual and microscope inspection for surge and moisture damage
- 03Bench power-up and rail analysis on the main board
- 04Oscilloscope and thermal checks on power and interface stages
- 05Repairability decision, including parts availability
Repair Process
- 01Replacement of failed regulators, protection devices and power components
- 02Repair of corroded tracks and connectors where the board can be saved
- 03Re-inspection and cleaning of the repair area
Testing and Validation
- Rail verification and boot behaviour after repair
- Interface check on the repaired ports where a test setup is practical
- Extended power-on run, including warm-up behaviour
What You May Receive
Diagnostic findings, Repair record, Post-repair verification result.
Warranty
Completed repairs are accompanied by warranty documentation. The cover, its term and its exclusions are written on the warranty document issued with the job, so they are agreed in writing for your equipment rather than assumed. Warranty applies to the repaired fault and the work carried out, not to unrelated failures elsewhere in the equipment.
Important Limitation
Sinsal repairs equipment electronics only. It does not install, configure or maintain CCTV systems, and it is not an authorised service centre for any camera or recorder brand.
Common Questions
Can a failed DVR or NVR be repaired?
Frequently, when the fault is in the power or interface stages. Assessment confirms the failed part and whether it can be replaced.
Do you repair IP cameras?
Yes, at the board level, subject to assessment. Outdoor cameras with severe water damage may not be economical to repair.
Do you install or set up CCTV systems?
No. Sinsal repairs the electronics of the equipment and does not provide installation or system commissioning.
Have Failed Recorders or Cameras?
Describe the equipment and the fault. Sinsal will confirm whether it is a fit for diagnostics and repair before any work begins.
